Cookie Policy

This page explains the cookies and browser storage used on the PropertyKleen website, and how you can control them.
What cookies and local storage are
Cookies are small text files a website places on your device. Local storage is a similar feature that lets a site save small pieces of information in your browser. Some are strictly necessary for the site to work; others, such as analytics, are only used if you agree.
Your choice
When you first visit, a banner asks you to accept or decline analytics cookies. Until you choose, and if you decline, no tracking cookies or scripts are loaded. You can change your mind at any time with the link in the footer.
What we use
| Cookie / Storage Name | Provider | Purpose | Type | Expiry |
|---|---|---|---|---|
propertykleen-cookie-consent | PropertyKleen (this site) | Remembers whether you accepted or declined cookies, with the date you chose, so we don't ask again. | Strictly necessary (local storage) | Until you clear your browser storage |
_clck | Microsoft Clarity | Keeps the same anonymous Clarity user ID across visits. | Analytics (only after Accept) | 1 year |
_clsk | Microsoft Clarity | Links page views into a single session recording. | Analytics (only after Accept) | 1 day |
CLID | Microsoft Clarity | Identifies the first time Clarity saw this user across sites using Clarity. | Analytics (only after Accept) | 1 year |
MUID, ANONCHK, MR, SM | Microsoft (clarity.ms / bing.com) | Used by Microsoft to identify unique browsers and check that analytics data is sent correctly. | Analytics (only after Accept) | Session to 1 year |
We do not use advertising or marketing cookies. Clarity is set with ad storage denied. If you decline, only the necessary consent preference above is stored.
Microsoft's privacy statement explains how it handles Clarity data: privacy.microsoft.com.
How to clear or block cookies in your browser
You can delete or block cookies through your browser settings. Blocking all cookies may stop some websites working properly.
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies / Delete browsing data
- Safari (Mac): Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data
- Safari (iPhone / iPad): Settings app → Safari → Advanced → Website Data
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Manage and delete cookies and site data
Clearing your browser's site data also removes your saved cookie choice, so the banner will appear again on your next visit.
